Danny Dyer to host Plymouth contestants on The Wall

A Plymouth father and son are set to feature on a BBC gameshow hosted by Danny Dyer. The Wall, which first hit screens in 2019, sees teams of two compete against each other for cash prizes.

Previous episodes have seen teams take away more than £100,000, while John Dundas and Gemma Stanfield from Glasgow won at £95,000 jackpot in 2021, describing the amount of money as “life-changing”.

The BBC describes the game as “the ultimate game of strategy, knowledge and luck”, as well as “wildly unpredictable with heart-stopping jeopardy”. The rounds test general knowledge and can see huge swings between colossal wins and heartbreaking losses.

Tomorrow Charlie and Tom, a father and son team from Plymouth, take on The Wall in a bid to win enough to buy a Mauritian food truck and realise Charlie’s dream.

Despite some big wins in the past, some have left the show feeling devastated after losing large amount of money. In 2021 Sam and Louise from Aberdeen were crestfallen after narrowly missing out on winning £50,000.

A celebrity version of the show has seen stars including Ronan Keating, Sarah Millican, and Eastenders actors James Bye and Maddie Hill take part.

The episode of The Wall featuring Charlie and Tom airs at 7.05pm on Saturday, April 2.
