Exeter City vs Fylde – live updates of the FA Cup first round tie

Exeter City will look to take their recent good league form into the FA Cup and book their spot in the second round.

The Grecians host National League North AFC Fylde on Saturday lunchtime in the FA Cup first round as they look to avoid being knocked out by non-league opposition for the second season running.

Both sides are unbeaten in ten, although the Coasters record dates back to last season, but they come to St James Park on the back of seven wins and a draw this campaign.

But City have their own unbeaten record of ten to protect and have lost just once in 25 on home turf, and have won their last four.

Matt Taylor’s men though has an underwhelming recent FA Cup record – having reached round three just twice in 15 years, and last season exited the competition to Hartlepool United.

Jim Bentley’s Fylde team meanwhile reached round three last season, taking Premier League Sheffield United all the way before succumbed to a 2-1 defeat.

Ahead of the game, Taylor indicated he would make plenty of changes, with the likes of Rory McArdle, Jake Caprice, Nicky Law and Ben Seymour in line for starts.
