Crews remain at the scene of a major fire at an outbuilding near a golf club in Plymouth which started more than 12 hours ago.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has told PlymouthLive that two crews are currently at the scene of the blaze near Boringdon Park Golf Club on Plymbridge Road, Plympton.
Calls were first received about the fire at around 5.48pm on Tuesday (February 9) as thick smoke filled the air.
Crews ended up having to withdraw from the incident at around 10pm due to dangerous conditions at the scene, with firefighters explaining that 2,000 litres of diesel, an acetylene cylinder, petrol and fertiliser inside the building.
Firefighters added that the structural integrity of the building had also been compromised.
However, crews were able to return during the night and an investigation into the blaze’s cause is due to be started today.
