Good Morning Britain viewers are calling for presenter Adil Ray to leave after his insensitive comments to Paul Gascoigne regarding his alcohol addictions.
Susanna Reid and Adil were speaking to the former footballer about his time on the Italian jungle show ‘Isola de Famosi’ – similar to the UK’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here – and how impressive it is that he can speak Italian.
When joining the show, Paul, also known as Gazza and who played for Rome club Lazio during his playing career, started speaking in Italian to them before translating what he had said to English.
Although both presenters were impressed, it was Adil’s comments that sparked outrage on Twitter as he referred to his previous struggles with alcoholism.
He said: “Gazza it’s amazing though you spent how many years, you’re at Lazio, three seasons three years and I’m guessing that’s where you picked it up and to hold onto it that.
“It was quite some time ago as well and you know you’ve had a few tipples since then as well so to keep that in you is really really impressive.”
Gazza, who was talking to the presenters live from Milan, said that when he was in Lazio, all he knew was a few football words and how to order a beer, he then quickly moved the subject onto the show that he was on in Italy.

“Get him off, smarmy tool. Tying too hard to be controversial to fit in Pierce’s [Pier Morgan] roll. The guys just unbearable to watch.”
