Home CCTV captures ‘at least two’ car thieves in Paignton

Home CCTV has captured images of at least two men caught going into driveways and trying car door handles in a rresidential area of Paignton.

Police have issued descriptions of the two who were at work together in the early hours of Saturday January 2.

They are appealing to car owners to keep vehicles locked and with no valuables stored in them.

A Paignton Police spokesman said: “In the early hours of Saturday 2nd Jan, there has been a number of reports of Persons entering driveways and trying Car Door Handles. The reports are between 0200-0400 hrs in Roundham and the Clifton/Waterleat area.

“We have Home CCTV images of at least two separate persons, entering driveways and looking into vehicles and trying car door handles.”

Descriptions of the two in the pictures have been issued: “The person in the first image is wearing a Dark Coat, which due to CCTV system shows as a light coloured coat.

“The person in the second image is wearing all dark clothing including a Base Ball Cap and Shoulder bag.

“Officers will be conducting patrols in these and surrounding residential areas of Paignton.

“Please make sure all vehicles are secure and valuables are not on show.
