Bids are being invited for a property in a rather unusual location – at the entrance to a cemetery in Dartmouth.
West Lodge, which is detached, is located at the gates of Longcross Cemetery, in Townstal Road, Dartmouth directly opposite Cemetery Lodge bungalow.
It’s got a red and white exterior, and with a handy co-op not far.
It has a freehold guide price of £22,500 to £30,000 in the next sale by the regional land and property auctioneers Clive Emson on Wednesday November 4.
Auctioneer Graham Barton says it has ‘great character’ and could be used for a number of different things.
He said: “This is a very interesting property and an absolute classic lot for our next auction.
“It is among the more unusual properties which we have been asked to auction recently. It has great character and has potential for a variety of uses subject to the necessary consents.”
The Lodge includes an entrance hall, WC, reception/office and staff room as well as space to park three vehicles.
Clive Emson Auctioneers holds a regional auction eight times a year – effectively one every six weeks.
A sale rate of 92% was recorded by the West Country office via the region’s lots at the firm’s last auction in September, which across the company raised £20m of sales.
One of the top five property auctioneers in the UK, it has 122 lots on offer across southern England for its next online-only auction on Wednesday November 4.
