The largest Clarks outlet store in the world opened its doors today (Wednesday) – less than an hour away from Devon.
Management at the popular footwear store welcomed the first customers to the new shop at Clarks Village in Street, Somerset at 10am this morning, following a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The massive new store, which spans 1,300 square metres, is the brand’s largest outlet store in the world.
And its 790 square metre sales floor is large enough to hold 10,400 pairs of shoes.
Helen Dunn, store manager at Clarks Village, said: “This was our first outlet store, and it is now our largest in the world, at 1,300 square metres.
“We can’t wait to welcome our customers back and provide them with a first-class shopping experience.
“There is now even more space to aid social distancing while you browse our range of shoes, handbags and accessories.
“We have everything needed to provide a safe shopping experience for our customers and their families.”
Chris Davis, centre director at Clarks Village, added: “Clarks Village is thrilled to welcome Clarks latest flagship store to the outlet.
“The brand is a huge part of our heritage, being the first outlet store to open at the site in 1993, and we hope the new store will allow shoppers to experience the brand like never before.”
