Staff at a popular Pizza Hut restaurant in Plymouth are busy transforming the venue ahead of its re-opening to dine-in customers on Monday.
The restaurant at Barbican Leisure Park will be introducing a “new spin” on the buffet – the Bluffet – with pizzas delivered to customers’ tables, and will have social-distancing measures in place.
Manager Dave Shephard says the team have considered “everything” regarding social-distancing and look forward to welcoming back guests.
Mr Shephard told Plymouth Live: “Pizza Hut at the Barbican Lesiure Park will be open for dine-in from July 6.
“Guests can book a table online now, but it’s not essential. However who knows – there could be a queue!”
He says social-distancing measures will be in place across the restaurant “including tables not in use”.
And customers will be asked to place their orders online and must pay by card or contactless card to limit the contact-time with servers.

The chain has also had to adapt the way in which it serves food, to limit contact-time with servers and follow social-distancing and hygiene regulations.
Mr Shephard says the popular Pizza Hut buffet now has a “new spin”.
Known as the “Bluffet,” servers will deliver the pizza to customers’ tables, instead of customers leaving their seat to serve themselves.
Plus, servers will bring customers’ Ice Cream Factory ice creams directly to their table, after they order them online.
“Obviously everything has been thought about from a social-distancing point of view with some amazing point of sale to direct them through their hut journey.
“We are looking forward to delivering food to dine in guests next week,” Mr Shephard added.
