Plymouth brothers caught with kilo of cannabis and £50,000

Two brothers face jail after police seized almost a kilo of cannabis and more than £50,000 in cash.

Michael, aged 27, and 24-year-old Sam Lloyd came to court with bags packed for prison after admitting dealing the drug.

Police found cannabis in a BMW and more drugs and cash strewn across their shared city home in January of last year.

Officers also found a new £9,500 Rolex watch and a string of high-value household gadgets in the terraced house in St Budeaux.

The brothers, each of Clifford Close, pleaded guilty before city magistrates to joint charges of possession of 962 grams of a Class B drug with intent to supply.

The Lloyds each turned up to Plymouth Crown Court with large holdalls for prison, but Judge William Mousley adjourned sentencing.

The judge also ordered probation reports but warned that “all options”, including custody, were open.

He released the besuited brothers on bail until July 28, on condition that they co-operate with the probation officer.

Police at the time said that officers stopped a BMW 3 Series in Royal Navy Avenue in Keyham. They found a large amount of cannabis in the car and more back at Clifford Close.

Officers found the cash in the home, including rolls of notes in strongboxes and even stuffed in the pockets of a waistcoat.
