Police continue to hunt for offender after ‘axe’ incident

Police have confirmed their investigation is ongoing after an incident yesterday in Plymouth that allegedly involved an axe.

The incident happened on Pike Road in Efford at around 4.40pm and police arrived at the scene near the Co-op store after receiving calls about an assault.

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police set up cordons and closed off Pike Road and Blandford Road while initial inquiries were carried out.

The police helicopter was also called to the location with video showing it hovering in the sky above Efford.

This morning police have confirmed that officers remain on the scene speaking to witnesses and they are actively searching for the offender.

Many people who witnessed the incident told PlymouthLive yesterday that an axe was used by the attacker, but police are yet to confirm this themselves.
