It’s been a fantastic day on Plymouth Hoe as the city took part in a range of activities to celebrate and honour past and present military personnel. For Armed Forces Day an exciting day for all the family was planned to enjoy on Plymouth Hoe.
Cornwall hosted the national event this year, in Falmouth, but activities have been taking place all day throughout the country with many continuing through the evening. Here we have put together 15 pictures from the day in Plymouth.
Activities ranged from exploring military vehicles and equipment, to tackling the Royal Marines challenging activities and the Army’s weapon displays. You could also visit the Royal Navy Village and chat to the RAF recruitment teams to learn more about the wide range of careers on offer, from Aircrew to Chef!.
The Veterans Village hosted lots of interesting and interactive displays, plus a wide range of charities and organisations offering information, support and advice, including training and recruitment opportunities for ex-military personnel.
The day will finish tonight with a free evening concert, offering a line-up of performances to dance and sing-a-long to, with the stunning backdrop of Plymouth Sound. Scroll down to see pictures from the day so far.
